Make a positive contribution

  • Our pupils are very considerate to each other, we value the range of ages we cater for and foster a sense of care and tolerance exemplified by our oldest children who are endlessly patient with our youngest children.
  • The children are very good at sharing and ensuring all recieve an equal opportunity.
  • Our core curriculum stresses the importance of being a good citizen through fostering community, being democratic, obeying laws and making a positive contribution.
  • Pupils express themselves through class and school councils, the latter being involved in appointing school staff including the new Headteacher and support staff.
  • Regular circletime sessions create a further avenue for pupil’s to express themselves.
  • Pupils are involved in the target setting process enabling them to express views on their own learning.
  • All children complete a series of simple questionnaires to give their opinions on much of what happens in their classrooms and the wider school.
  • Y5/6 are trained in conflict resolution and are active in helping the younger children sort out their problems on the playground.
  • Children are present at parents evenings and are invited to comment.Children add comments onto their own end of year
  • reports to reflect on successes and areas for development.
